That's awesome Dawn! I love that run! After almost a 10 year hiatus (because of weight gain) I returned to running last fall. Hope you love it as much as I do. It's officially my 'thing' again and I'm so grateful to be able to run.

Zombies Run! has a 5K training app that I love. I completed it last year on the elliptical and felt awesome :D

couch to 5k is good, easy, and free. I did it a few years ago (at 280 lbs), and I finished it. Then you can bridge to 5k. I also have ZOmbies, run! But I'd start with C25K. You can then bridge to 10 k if you want.
It never occurred to me to do Zombies on the elliptical. I can't run any more (plantar fasciitis), but the elliptical is a little easier.
