Our daily bread- I mean protein!

At almost 7 months out , this is what I know:

I am happier eating on my terms- home and work.

I really don't like eating out anymore. It is just too much food even with ordering just appetizers. One bite can make the difference between a good meal and not so good.

i think my head is really starting to change- I really am starting to view food as fuel and think before I eat it how it will help me reach my protein goals for the day.

i wish I had done this before now.  At 64 I had a lot of time wasted not feeling well and not being able to do things I wanted to do.  However, ever forward for myself and family...

It has been at least 30 years since I weighed in the 140's.

My husband likes the slim me.  I think I am truly happier.  I don't have the weekly or daily worry of what am I going to do about my weight. I feel more confident .  I am leaving my present job after 23 years and going to work in my husband's business- from managing a surgical practice to selling equipment for water treatment plants.  ( nice term for sewerage equipment!).

i am happy today!  I can handle stress better.  I am not perfect -I am human.

Thanks for listening.

Nancy

Hi Nancy,

I am also 64, and I'm about 9 months out, and I share many of your feelings.  It is wonderful that you've found a new balance in your life with your eating and your work.

It is so nice to have more health and energy.  I wish you the best in your journey.

Carol

Great job working that sleeve!  It is a shame that some of us had to wait so long to figure it out (I'm 53).  Good luck in your new business venture!

That was very inspiring to me Nancy. I will be 50 in August. I haven't had the surgery yet but am in the process. I love this forum because there is good advice here and it keeps me hopeful, uplifted and on a positive path and makes me feel that I too can succeed at this. Thanks for sharing.

I had my sleeve on 12/3. I feel great! I am 53 but I am told that I look younger. Why not have a body that is healthy and represents who I am! Someone who is young minded and healthy! I appreciate every moment of my post surgery time. I learned that I can change and make choices about my food! Food is becoming fuel for me! It feels great to feel that way! I would not change a minute of the last two months!

I also am told that I look  younger since the surgery.  I am blessed with good skin and no gray hair! I think the youth goes from inside out!
