I chickened out....

If this helps at all....if sugar is your drug of choice as it is with me, know this:  I was banded in 2007, had 1/2 of the fluid removed in 2010 due to complications, tasted just a little piece of something with sugar and have been on the merry go round since and can't get off.  DO NOT TOUCH SUGAR if you decide not to go thru with surgery.

That said, wishing you the best no matter what you decide.

No one should do this surgery until they know they can follow the diet and they have done everything else.  I wish you total success and health.
This surgery is permanent and very serious.  Do not be embarrassed.  Take your time.  :0)

Thank you all for your kind replies. Now I know why I posted this here. It really helped clear my mind about the surgery, and I do feel like I need to give it one last shot on my own before the surgery.

I told my mom last night, which I was dreading because she worries herself crazy over my health and she thought surgery was the answer. She took it pretty hard but was supportive in the end.

I've almost completed day 11 of being sugar free, and I'm doing pretty good. I just wanted to thank you all for your support, encouragement and I wish you all the best.
