My surgeon uses Spider technology to do his surgeries when at all possible so this way he only needs to do one incision through the belly button and this minimizes on scaring. Has anyone else has there procedure done with Spider technology? I'm curious if it's more painful or not and if it's safer or just about the same.

my surgeon is starting to do that but I had the 5 hole method, its just a different tool and leave a little less scarring but most of the scarring will be cut away when I get plastics done

Hello,

Dr. Marema did my VSG with the Spider on 11/6/13...I have a small little scare in my belly button, I had no pain, no problems at all. He did a great job!

Thanks for responding. I am oddly calm about this entire process and can't wait to get my date, which Teresa anticipates will be mid February.
