Liquid diet...
Is there a difference between broth and strained clear soup? Today for lunch, one of my cooks (I'm a cafe' mgr not mega rich with my own staff...lol) made veggie/beef soup. I strained all of the veggies and beef away but "ate" the broth. Common sense says it's ok but just wanted to check with the pros ;)
Also, in my list of foods to eat, in the creamed soup area it clearly states not to eat tomato soup. Anyone know why not?
The general rule is that a "clear" liquid is any liquid clear enough that you can read a newspaper through it, according to many nutritionists. I'd avoid the tomato (this is just my opinion) because of the acidity. It COULD affect your sleeve and irritate any reflux you may have. Just a thought. When in doubt, call your nutritionist :) That's why we paid the big bucks, right? To have a team at our beckon call??
