Juicers
Have you heard of that movie Fat, Sick and almost Dead (or something like that)? I have no desire to juice right now but that movie almost made me want to. The dude was really unhealthy and overweight and decided to juice for either 60 or 90 days. It showed his struggles and also showcased a few other people that started juicing for health reasons. Kind of inspiring. You can watch the whole movie on Youtube and I think there is a website about it also that has juice recipes. I hope that helps! :-)

Juicing low carb is tough. Typically when I juice I have some apple,carrot, and lemon in there to balance out all of the green veggies. I think that start with a taste you can stand, and then work down the high sugar/carb part and increase the green leafy veggie part. It does wonders for your lab work if you can really up the veggies this way :)
Edit: forgot to leave a list of what I throw in the juicer-
1. 1 apple, 2-3 carrots, 1 lemon (including rind), big handful of kale and spinach, 2-3 celery stalks, 1 cucumber, 1 handful greens (collard, turnip, whatever you can find), 1/4 beet, big handful romaine lettuce. This will make far more than one person needs at a sitting though- this does 3 of us in my household. Pour it over ice- it is much better super cold. Rule of thumb, it should be green when you go to drink it.

I have never juiced (except for all the steroids I take to get buff - haha, ok that's a joke)... but I just wanted to say that I'm hoping surgery happens for you soon so that you can heal and feel better! I hate that you are in so much pain!!

I juiced for a bit, but no special recipe. I did carrot, apple, cucumber for the most part. It does depend if you just juice or if you keep the pulp of the veggies/fruit and make smoothies. Both really good for you, but obviously one has fiber and the other does not. Since it is hard to juice leafy greens. I would just use an immersion blender and add them to the juice.
Sometimes I just add spinach to my protein drink by using an immersion blender (or regular blender). I feel better just focusing on a liquid diet, rather than just juicing, but that is my preference. Good results from both though.

Sorry, the pulp can be used in bake goods and other recipes, but what I meant by pulp is using the whole veggie or fruit and just grinding it all up in a food processor or blender to make a smoothie. Basically using everything, instead of just the juice. Depends what type of fast you are going for. Pure juicing will help clear your intestinal track in a different way than the fiber one. However, both help clean you out and rejuvenate.
