2 years ago...ready yourself for a ramble
what can I say, other than I admire your tenacity, your truth, and your foul mouthed fingers?! And of course, I love you the most for introducing me to Lance who always brings a smile to my face no matter what kind of ****ty day I'm having. I just love me some Lance!
Seriously, you are one of the ones who keeps it real for me. You are awesome sauce in my book.
Hmmm....... ice cream........ yeah..........you and I play on the same team when it comes to that......Damn!
Slim, you're one of the people I look up to around here, for a few reasons. This post just reinforced my fantastically good taste in doing so.
Damn, glad you kicked melanoma in the butt. That scared me to read it, and I apologize if you put that out here before and I just missed it.
The levothyroxine angle fascinates me. Can you have your thyroid talk to my thyroid about that?
I think I'm jealous of what looks like some peeks of pretty curly hair. I know I'm jealous of your terrific attitude. Thanks for all you share around here (which hasn't been so much lately, but ...). You have lots to be proud of!
Thanks Hun.
I hadn't talked about the melanoma before on the main forum. It was one of those things that just really happened fast. So, I was rolling with it and working a new job and family, etc. I have more dr appts scheduled to remove all the other "suspect" moles. Fingers crossed they all come back negative.
Yeah the thyroid thing was weird. Cool, but weird.
I do have very curly hair, but I straighten it most days--otherwise I look like Rosann Rosanna Danna. Not a pretty vision.
You'll get there Slim, you're too darn feisty not too! Sorry to read about the melanoma, but boy can I relate to eating the ice cream and such when one is diagnosed. It still surprises me that I had as much removed during the weight loss phase and still made it all the way- the emotional eating it triggers in me is very intense. Why my brain thinks that eating barrels of ice cream will make the cancer go away is beyond me, I just really wi**** would smart up already and be done with it.
Take good care of yourself, and don't forget the sunscreen (broad spectrum) all the time.
HT

Next month I go back and they start using me as a human pin cushion. Sucks, but **** it. Just add the new scars to all of my current scars.
I wanted to pm you when I found out because I remember you talking about your cancer. But, it all happened so damn fast, I was finished with the biopsy and sentry node thingy before I even got a chance to wipe my ass.
Thanks for posting all of your stuff. I was able to take a look at some of your old posts.
It gets easier to deal with- resiliency can be learned. In the early months it was a total ***** to go in for procedures to have various growths removed, needles to the face, sutures, then a frantic drive into school to make first bell. After about a gajillion times of doing it though, I got better at it and it became pretty routine. Eventually, I got ahead of it. I still have not passed a skin test, but now at least it is just a couple things here and there instead of cryo on 40 plus spots, plus surgeries to get rid of the squamos cell carcinoma and her ***** friend melanoma. Feel free to PM me anytime about it. Stay away from ice cream before and after appointments- no joke there. The emotional eating part I have not gotten a grip on when I know I am going in or coming out of procedures so I have to do the best I can to keep all that crap completely purged until I can get it together.
