Climbing out of hole

It's about time, but I'm starting to feel more like myself. My depression and anxiety seem to be well controlled at this point after months of playing with my meds. My motivation is slowly coming back. I'm totally grateful that while I've done the yo-yo thing for the last year - I haven't let my weight spiral out of control. For me this is huge because this was certainly one of the worst major depressive episodes I've ever had in my life. Before even a little minor depression would equal 20-30 lbs very quickly. If I survived this, I know I'll be able to get through anything.

My back is still touchy, but I haven't had any major pain in a couple weeks. It allows me to walk, hike, do some gentle yoga, and I even tried a barre method class today (holy crap it was hard after being sedentary for a year). The pain was draining me and drained any desire to care about my health/body.  I still have a ways to go but now that I'm moving, I'm happier, a little more energy, and losing weight again.

I can never say it enough but I'm eternally grateful for all my wonderful friends here who have thrown me a few life savers and pulled me off the edge of the cliff. Hopefully I'll see more happy days and start making progress on some of my goals.

I am looking forward to meeting every one coming to the conference this week.

I'm soooo glad you're feeling better! ...and way to go on keeping the weight in check.  I've been watching your trials and tribs and didn't have lots of input, but as a long timer like you, I feel like I know you and have been thinking about you and pulling for you every step of the way.  Keep the faith sunshine!  See ya later in the week.  Can't wait to meet you too.

So glad you are feeling better and more optimistic! That is good news. I know it was hard for you to see during your depression, but you really are one of the superstars around here! What you have been able to accomplish and hold on to is mind numbing!

Me, I'm grateful to you for all the inspiration you give me and continue to provide!

Wish I was hanging with you all this weekend, but dog duty calls!

Okay, so perhaps I underplayed the dog duty. I'm flying to the east coast tomorrow night with a dog in tow for the biggest terrier weekend in the US. It is second only to Crufts in the UK. It's a big deal.......
