X-post, NSV GOAL @ almost 1 year
Well, most of you know that I have taken up ice skating again, and even competed last month. One of my goals for the past several months has been to land a jump, any jump, by my surgiversary date. Well, last night, I learned, and landed several bunny hops. I know to some people, a bunny hop is no big deal, but I'm over the moon thrilled about it. Once I can to that well, it will be time to learn the waltz jump. I would have never thought my journey would lead me to something I love so much. One of the "side effects" of my VSG and this activity is that I am finally learning to live in the moment and enjoy it, and to do things for myself. I just had to share this victory with you.
This sounds so wonderful. Congratulations on your weight loss and following your dreams. I am so happy for you.

That is so exciting! Congrats to you! I've always loved to watch ice skating but I have terrible balance and would never venture to try it. I'm still preop but something I am excited to get back to is horseback riding, something I used to LOVE to do regularly! I also love to swim but have avoided pools for going on two years now. I've decided that once I lose enough weight I'm going to find a coach to teach me how to swim competitively. I can't wait! Something I've never done but always wanted to do is white water rafting. I'm definitely going to add that one to my list of to-dos when I get some weight off! Just thought I'd share some of my current daydreams with you.
Again, congrats! I'm VERY impressed because it's something I could never do. Keep up the good work!
