It's kind of funny...
...but as my body is looking better and better my hair is getting worse and worse! I'm only 11 weeks out so I haven't even hit the BIG hair loss wheelhouse yet but I've already had gradual thinning, which is making my already thin, curly hair look like CRAP! Serious frizz and bare scalp showing. Plus I've been taking biotin since a month before surgery and I have all this fuzzy new stuff where I don't even need it .
Well, I have a hair appointment today and I think I'm going to tell him to give me a cute little pixie cut because this just isn't working for me anymore. And I have a friend who works at the Milwaukee theater as a professional wig mistress; might be time for a little hair piece for this girl.
If I hadn't been able to pull on jeans this morning that I haven't worn in at least 8 years, I might be a little more depressed. As it sits now, I'm just mildly bummed
Hi Tracy,
I also noticed hair loss at 11 weeks out. It worried me - I hope I'm early and this is not a foreshadowing of worse things to come. I notice the thinness most at my part - where you can see a lot of the scalp no matter where I part it.
Oh well. this too shall pass. Are you from Milwaukee? I was born there, but live in Massachusetts now.
best wishes,
Carol

Hello Tracy D. I'm sure I will be the same, as I was already thinning before surgery (runs in the family), and I'm 50 so that doesn't help either. I have a friend though who is in her 60's. She started wearing a wig to work and I kid you not, she looked 10-20 years younger. She really looked good in them. I may have to try this--except I have a big head, so not so sure it would look so good on me.

Hi Tracy, I am a little 3 months post op and I am losing hair like crazy. I already had thin, fine hair. But I found a product called Toppik Hair Fibers, its a powder that matches your hair color and I use it to conceal my thinning hair. It works great and I don't feel so self-conscious about my hair loss. I get it from Sally Beauty Supply. Congrats on your weight loss and at least we know that the hair loss is temporary.
