I know clear liquids are ok but is apples sauce, cream soups jello type stuff ok for the day before surgery. I can't remember what they said I know our stomach has to be empty on day of surgery so I don't want to mess up. I had protein in milk for breakfast and I'm OBVEOUSLY still hungry. It probably just went right through me.

Hi,

I think its best to call your doctor's office, as it is critical that you follow his instructions especially so close to surgery.  Good luck with your surgery.  I look forward to sharing success stories from the "Loser's Bench"!

best wishes,

Carol

Applesauce is NOT a liquid.  If the doctor's orders say CLEAR LIQUIDS then that means anything that light can pass through and that you can read text through.

Keep slamming water...that will help to stave off hunger too.  You are almost there.  Hang in there!

My nut said liquid not clear liquid. My post op is that way too, she said my post op and pre op can have creamed soups, and yogurt with no fruit. That's y I'm confused because everyone on here has different instructions.

Most surgeries in general require clear liquids the day before surgery. When I had my babies' c-sections, I was on clear liquids. The goal is to cleanse the system as much as possible. That being said follow your surgeon's instructions. Take care.

Call your surgeon's office so that they can refresh your memory on what THEY want you to do.  Surgeons' instructions vary so much.  You wouldn't want to foul up your surgery schedule by taking in something that is not permitted in your instructions.
