Feeling Light Headed and Weak - 11 days out - do you know wny that might be

I am feeling a bit light headed and very weak - is that due to so few calories being intaken?  Has others experienced this?

I am already seeing my Surgeon on Tuesday due to an allergic reaction to the dermabond that sealed the incisions but I think they may actually infected.  They gave me an RX for the itching and pain but they are very very red.

Anyway, I am concerned about the light headedness.

Thank you,

Kimberly

How much fluids are you getting in?  I ended up back in the ER for dehydration on day 10 even though I thought I was getting enough fluids in. I was super light headed and weak.

Thank you!  I didn't know that would cause it but I have not been drinking very much - eeck.  It is so hard for me to have to count 30 minutes after eating before I can drink, most of the time I just end up not drinking for much longer.

Thank you! I will set a timer and watch this closer.

At 11 days out eating was drinking!  I didn't wait.  Also count all protein drinks as liquid.  Make sure you are getting at least 64 oz of fluids at this point.  That said I was feeling light headed too.

Agree. Get those fluids in! You may still want to follow up with the doc and/or need IVs if you are too far behind. Good luck!

Do you think I should call the doc on call or would you just wait until office hours tomorrow.

I would say better safe than sorry. They are on call to help patients with medical issues. Call and talk over symptoms with them and follow their guidance.

It's also probably due to your lack of calories. Are you tracking your calories? I (and many here) use My Fitness Pal.

Definitely make sure you are getting all your fluids in.  Dehydration is no joke!

You are also not taking in near the amount of calories you were before surgery so the fact that you're running on much less fuel than before probably is another contributing factor to the lightheadedness.

Are you taking any blood pressure medications?  This could also cause the lightheadedness if your BP is lower now than before.

Hope you find out what is causing your lightheadedness and that you feel better soon.
