What Can you EAT?
Depends on the food. Steak and chicken, about 3 oz with a small veg side. Fish, 4-5 oz with a side.
Potato chips? Cookies? The whole bag. *laughing*
I try to stick to premeasured amounts, even now. I don't always weigh my food, but 9 times out of 10, I do. I don't eat until "full" anymore.

I stick with a max of 3 oz. firm protein per meal and generally (not always) less than 1 cup in volume. This is working well for me in maintenance for 15 months at my goal weight (BMI 21.8). I still eat mostly low fat meats, non-fat dairy, non-starchy veggies, and whole grains, and fruit: in about that order.

I'm 19 months out. I still measure my food (well, 95% of the time!). I weigh out 3 oz of dense protein (chicken, beef, pork, turkey, etc....) and then will measure my vegetable sides by volume, not weight.
So, by volume, I eat somewhere around 3/4 of a cup for most meals. I don't go so much by weight (except for the protein) since vegetables range so much in density. Hope that makes sense to you.
