I crossed my legs -- on an airplane!
This was my first post-VSG flight and I'm down almost 80 pounds since the last time I flew. I fit EASILY into my seat. Tightened my seat belt right up, and could even cross my legs on the plane!
This was a college reunion of 7 women who used to live on the same dorm floor and most of us hadn't seen each other for more than 30 years! So, all in all, I was about the same size now as I was 30 years ago (which is still not "normal".
I did eat some things that I don't typically eat, but only little bits and not enough to trigger cravings!
So, back to my strict eating today. But it was very interesting to observe the habits of "normal" people. I know many of us struggle with our concept of "normal", and while I ate (a little) of most of the things my normal friends ate, we did joke a lot about how we all eat now vs. how we ate in college -- and all of the words now in our food vocabulary that we never imagined before:
Carbs
Greek Yogurt
Agave Nectar
Carbs
Almond, soy and coconut milk, etc.
Protein Powder
So, interestingly enough, the way I eat now, is very much like my "normal" friends. It looks like many of us now have a new normal!
How exciting :)
My "normal" friends eat like I did pre-op and they are skinny....damn life is unfair!!!
