Having a scope on wednesday
I had the scope done today actually. The prep took longer than the scope itself. I was under general anesthesia but it was like taking a good little nap. I was little groggy when I came to but I was fine in about 10 minutes or so. My throat was dry and minimally sore. I feel confident I could go to work tomorrow. The prep took 2 hours with all the questions and nurses and set up. The procedure took about 15 minutes.
Since I have Crohn's Disease, I have one every couple years, since I was 17, upper and lower. I am always fine the next day. However, prep day is not so fun and the day you have it, you are really sleepy and gassy. I usually feel quite refreshed the day after. It naturally just clears you out and you feel a bit revived, at least I do. Just remember to drink your liquids after to flush the drugs out of your system and to rehydrate.
“Not many of us are living at our best. We linger in the lowlands because we are afraid to climb the mountains. The steepness and ruggedness dismay us, and so we stay in the misty valleys and do not learn the mystery of the hills. We do not know what we lose in our self indulgence. What glory awaits us if only we had the courage for the mountain climb. What blessing we should find if only we would move to the uplands of God.? JRM
