Is there any issue with doubling up on protein powder when making a shake.....thus making it 56 grams instead of. 23?
Thanks,
Anne

One school of thought says it is fine. Another says you only absorb so much per X amount of time and the rest is wasted.

Most will say your body can't absorb more than about 30 gms protein at one meal. I have found that 1 1/2 scoops of a high quality powder in  1 cup unsweetened almond milk is just about perfect

Preop, I did find that adding more powder to my breakfast drink allowed me to go further before getting hungry. Not sure if it was legit or a head game, but there you have it!

best stick to 30 if you are getting enough protein a day , many nuts say you can't obsorb more  so why waste it , you could drink half now and half in a few hours if you need more protein

I have been doing it. There is a lot of debate as to how much protein your body will absorb before turning the rest to fat. 30g is what the general thought is. If you are working out then I think it's probably fine but if not I would stick to 30.
