Thanks for coming back and letting us know you are successful at 5 years out. Stories such as yours and Elena's (4 years out) are music to my ears because I have read many people regain after the third year

I'm a little over 2 years out and have been at goal 14 months.

Lynda,

Glad I could ease your mind a bit.  It is TRUE weight regain can easily occur.  It happened to me and most others.  My only tip is to never allow the new you to go back to your old eating habits...or think that you can continue to eat like you did during the first 18-24 months.  And... give yourself a regain threshold not to surpass (for me it was 15 pounds).

All the best to you!

Congratulations, Beautiful.  My husband and I went out for BBQ with another couple.  I had one rib, 5 french fries, one spoonful of baked beans and one bite of an ear of corn.  (My husband shared his meal with me.)  I was stuffed and I had my surgery in 2009.  My dinner companion (a diabetic whose husband is trying hard to limit her over-consumption of sweets) was trying equally hard to convince me to suggest that we go to another destination afterwards for strawberry pie.  She could not understand why I was totally not interested.

Thank you for posting this.  I am very grateful for my VSG, this forum and for people like you who take the time to make posts such as this!
