Introduction...
Good morning! I have been following this page since my VSG on 5/24/13. All the experience reflected in this forum has been an invaluable source of support and information - thank you to everyone! I'm a little over 3 weeks out from my surgery and feeling great, now that the pesky reflux has abated somewhat. When it was bad it was REALLY bad! My only issues so far were the reflux and the horrible allergic reaction to Prilosec - massive hives all over the backside of my body. Who knew you could be allergic to that stuff?? Taking Zantac now and it seems to be doing the trick.
The thing I really appreciate about this forum is the guidance on what to eat and the guidelines on calories and carb intake. My surgeon's office was/is very loosey-goosey about this and basically let me loose with "eat whatever goes down and stays down". Well, I advanced my diet pretty quickly to some "hard" proteins and that contributed to my reflux issue.
I look forward to hearing more about how to live this new life and hope I can support others who are on the path with me.
You survived what you thought would kill you. Now straighten your crown and go forward like the Queen you are!
Welcome to the board. This forum has a wealth of information and awesome people. Glad to know you're doing good other than the acid reflux.
