My surgery is set for June 27th. I wanted to start my liquid phase pre op now but the past three days I'm failing. I don't live a lone, I live with three other people and I'm the only one that's really trying to eat right. It's so hard especially my cousin went to the grocery today and bought pure carbs!!! I an really debating should I move out right after the surgery because I dont know how am I going to make it living here. I haven't stocked up on protein shakes yet just soups and broths. Also I'm going to Mexicali to Dr Aceves as my surgen. Any advise to a pre-oppy like me?!

I don't think you need to move out.  After your surgery it will be so much easier to resist food. In fact, it will be more of a struggle to get all of your food in.  You just may be the inspiration your roommates need to start eating healthier themselves.  Good luck and may you have much success!

Also don't stock up on a lot of protein shakes pre op.  Your tastes post op will be different.  Things that tasted great pre op may make you throw up post op.  When you buy things do so in very limited quantities until you have tried them post op and discovered that they are going to be fine.  That way you won't waste a lot of money, especially on shakes which can get a bit pricey.

There was a post last week about a person that stock piled protein shakes from GNC and discovered that she hated them after trying her first shake or two.  She was about to throw these all away ... they were that bad tasting for her.  I of course mentioned that GNC does have a great 90 day return policy so you shouldn't be too afraid to try a few things that they carry.  Also anything that they don't have in store but you buy online instead like my favorite About Time brand can be returned to your local store if you don't like it under the same 90 day return policy when accompanied by the shipping label.

Don't move out that could be more stressful than staying where you are if you are fairly pleased with your roommates.  You are going to have to get some thick skin and willpower.  It will be easier to stay away from food after surgery but it is also easier to eat those slider foods/carbs than it will be to eat dense protein.  Set your mind right now that you are doing this to get healthier and that you are going to stick to the dense proteins (when allowed) and to stay on plan.  You will deal with this all through your weight loss phase and you need to become strong now and carry that with you after the surgery.  If they are eating something that is bothering you then go for a walk, go to another room and read a book.  It might be a good idea to set down with them and let them know that you really want to succeed at this and you need their help.  At times you may be more emotional.  Now I have been able to let my family eat what they want and I just don't partake because getting to goal is more important to me than to be a drill sargent with them.  I make sure that I have things in the house that I want to eat.  For the most part they have started eating healthier and my son's body fat has dropped from 27% to 21% and his nutrionist is very pleased with him.  They still eat fast food but not as much as they use to and it does not bother me to let them eat it and me not eat it.

The preop phase is a tough phase for many people because your stomach is still big and you are detoxing from the carbs but just remember what your goal is and it is important to stick to your doctor's pre-op plan to shrink your liver.

As a Dr. Aceves patient, one thing I wish I had done was stock up on some protein samples. You'll be on clears when you get home. All I found that fit the clear bill was Isopure RTD and Syntrax Nectar. All I got was Isopure and I hated it post op. I orded some Nectar samples at that point, but I was already out of clears by the time they came. I'd recommend getting a sample pack of Syntrax Nectar beforehand so you at leasthave a variety. The cheapest place I found was BJs Bariatrics.

I think I also had Unjury chicken soup at that point, though I'm not sure if it qualifies as a vlear.
