So what did you have on the PRE-OP Diet for 2 weeks ???
Sleeved 6/12/13 - 100 pounds lost to get to goal!
liquids, liquids, and more liquids... I felt like I was floating all the time. I drank lots of protein shakes and ate my weight in jello (i hate jello now).
Things on my list included protein shakes, greek yogurt, sugar free popsicles, sugar free jello, sugar free pudding, chicken/beef broth, tomato soup... they didn't get me any limits other than keeping foods to that list!

I drink three little boxes of Optifast daily (that's a protein drink you can only get thru an MD); at least 4 bottles of water; one cup of broth (i like Progresso Tuscany); and for the sweetness thing, I enjoy my Sugar Free Popsicles and Sugar Free Jello. I use Crystal Light in my water if i can't get my water down (usually i chug water all day, but now that i have to, suddenly it's hard to do). That's IT. First couple of days my stomach growled. But getting on the scale every morning and watching the weight melt off was some pretty good positive reinforcement. My surgery is this coming Tuesday, and I've lost 45 lbs on the Optifast.
At least 70g of protein, less than 40g of carb (it could have been 50, I'm not 100% sure), and less than 10g of fat. That usually averaged out to about 800-900 calories. I was able to eat whatever I wanted within those parameters - it's very similar to how I eat now, except I don't care so much about that fat, I eat more protein, less carbs and less calories. I didn't have to do a liquid pre-op diet.
