My iced coffee that I am drinking as I type this feels like it's burning a hole in my stomach.  I know I need food but I'm being too lazy to go & either make a protein shake or warm a chicken sausage.  I'm having a feeling "fat as hell" kinda day.  I don't like these type of days because I know that is why I am trying to hold out until lunch.  I know it's not good for me (yes Keith, I know!) but I think it' all in my head.  I've been trying to go back to 600-800 calories a day & it's just so frickin' hard as hell now being 20 months out.  I end up feeling deprived & want to eat more.  I need to get rid of snacks like my flavored almonds & hot peanuts.  I get addicted to them & want to eat them all day long & they feel like sliders to me.

What a baby I am ... ok, I will get off my highchair & suck it up!!!

B: iced coffee w/SF almond syrup, 1/4 cup Hood CC 2% milk (15 cals. total)

S: not very high protein but I want crunch so I'm going to eat some mini sweet peppers w/1 LC cream cheese wedge

L: carne asada w/sprinkle of jack cheese, cilantro

S: maybe a quest bar since I tend to want sweets in the afternoon.

D: crap... my gurlfriend is coming over to visit.  My kids wanna see her kids & I planned to order pizza down the street but I think I'm going to get grilled chicken at KFC instead.  This way, the kids can enjoy mac & cheese & I can be good!

Water & Vits are on track!!!

What about increasing your calories a bit? 600-800 at 20 months out is very difficult. Maybe, 900-1000 would better and not leave you feeling deprived, which leads to binging. Slow and steady weight wins the race at this point in time. IMHO .

You are absolutely right & I have already thought about this.  I think I am just still in that mentality that I need to go as low as I can with the calories but it just doesn't seem feasible now.  And yes, it has led to binging.  I need to remember this is no longer a race for me; that I need to just keep taking it one day at a time while making the best food choices I can every day for the rest of my life.  Dang, that sounds so permanent (sucks!) but life is still so much better being sleeved than not.

Thank you so much for your input!!!

You know I KEPT fighting my 1,000 calories until finally my trainer said I need you to eat minimum 1,200.  I was like you are ******g CRAZY.  Been doing it 2 month I feel GREAT and I'm losing (when I dont' eat donuts, popcorn and corn toritallas or margaritas but that's another story).  I say ALL this to say if you FEEL deprived you STOP and just eat for Christ's sake.  This "white knuckling" is BS.  Add in the fact that you are shredding...yeah stop tripping.

I think you are working out a lot more than I am.  I haven't done my shredding for the past 2 days.  I guess I can blame it on personal/emotional issues but that is still no excuse for me.  WTH is white knuckling???  For reals, I don't know!

I trip a lot Ms. Shell & yes, that is my problem.  I suck major balls ... big, wet, hairy, ginormous donkey balls!!! devil

OK ... I'm going to up my calories a bit on MFP because seeing my goal of staying under 800 has been giving me a head trip & not a good one either!!!

Thank you.

Personally, I think ms. Shell is right. If you are working out, you do need more calories. I have taken off 5-6, lbs since the end of January , and I have averaged about 0.5 lb/week. This is fine with me, since I don't have much to lose and I want to preserve my muscle mass. The low calories make more sense, when we are heavier and have more fat to burn.

Thank you Gail.  I see your ticker says goal reached but you are trying to lose.  Did you have a mini regain?  My workout is only 27 min. which is something but it's not like I'm slaving at the gym for 2 hours.  Its the best I can do right now being a single mom to 2 small kids.  I'm not discrediting my workout at all but I know I'm not busting balls either.

(big sigh ...) I know I need to just take a back seat with this in the sense that I need to just do what I gotta do to snap out of this crazy funk I've been in for the past several months.  I realize I am happy & have a lot of happy things going on.  You are awesome, thank you!!!!

My range was about 108-111. In January , I noticed that my range had increased to 112-114, and my pants were feeling more snug. I took a close look at my food logs and noticed that I had slowly let some things into my diet, that I wasn't eating before, and my calories that gradually increased, during a time that my exercise slacked off. I eliminated the offending items, completely revamped my exercise routine, and started tracking again. During preop and postoperative, I had tracked my food religiously, but i had stopped for about 6 weeks, when I had a minor crisis going on.

I have dropped the extra weight and decided to see, if some more would come off. A couple more pounds have come off, and I am now below my goal by 3.5 lbs. I am only 4'11 so every pound shows on me. It has been slow going, but I expected that. The most important things, are my exercise routines and clean eating. I really try to stay away from processed foods and I don't drink alcohol. I still have my skinny latte in the morning, but it is figured into my food plan.

i have come too far to go backwards . I have to control what I can, and this seems to be something that I have learned to control. It is a change in lifestyle . Like someone said to me the other day at the gym, working out is our second job. We may not get cash for it, but the pay off is the health benefit and feeling a sense of accomplishment and increased self-esteem. Obesity is a chronic disease and there are certain things that we need to do, to control it. Just like a diabetic needs to do certain things to control their disease, we need to practice certain skills to keep the disease in remission.
