Protein Coffee vs eggs for breakfast -- why is the coffee more satisfying?

OMG! I want the ground turkey, bacon hash with a big old fried egg. OR maybe the sage fried chicken eggs benedict OR maybe their grilled french toast (well, I could manage a bite of that - more would probably make me puke now! LOL)

Cracks me up though, you'll probably be able to eat a 5th of what they serve you! Enjoy!

I am doing my best not to be jealous as I drink my protein coffee!

Well, you've had plenty of replies, but I wanted to add my two cents in, too.

I say continue with your protein coffee. I'm 16 months out and still have one every morning. At five months it kept me going until lunch time, too. Not any more. Most days my protein coffee gets me to mid morning and then I need a high protein snack. On a rare occasion, like yesterday, the coffee will last all morning.

I still have pretty darn good restriction, so on workout days (which is pretty much 5 days a week) I have the protein coffee AND a post work out protein shake. They are part of my new VSG life. I'm fine with it. My doctor, who is an advocate of solid food only, has lightened up and okayed me to drink my shakes. I think most docs worry about us former fatties going back to taking in a lot of liquid calories and that is a sure fire way for regain, so they counsel us against the liquid calorie path.

As for why the drink keeps you fuller longer, who knows? I bet it's a combo of things - the digestive acid and IMO my sleeve is tighter in the morning, but I've never been a big morning eater. I need a few hours for the old stomach to wake up. Always have. Then I can eat!

I have a Click Vanilla Latte protein shake every morning for breakfast.  It keeps me satisfied until 11:30-12ish.
