What's Dr Cirangle's viewpoint on Nsaids for VSG?

I know that doctor's differs on this but I trust his opinion more since he has done so many VSGs.  Nsaids okay for VSG?  I'm really about to break on this because I'm in so much pain not being able to take Nsaids.  Preop I took them everyday for pain.   I know some doctors feel that NO nsaids should ever be taken.  Others say on occasion okay.  Yet other say it doesn't make one bit of difference between a normal stomach and a sleeved stomach it really only makes a difference for RNY.    I'd like to believe the later because I'm dying in pain from Fibromyalgia and Endometriosis and nothing else works but just don't know whether or not it's true.  I don't want ulcers either.

I have to take them from Time to time. I know that there is no doubt it is an increased ulcer risk .But I minimize this by only taking it with needed and taking a pip a few minutes prior(according to my doc) reality is even without a sleeve ongoing use of nsaids creates an elevated ulcer risk.... Yeah, pre-op I really was way too reliant on taking them daily.  I will never let myself take them daily again.  But I think on my worst days  I will have to give in because I can barely function.  I can't go on disability just because I'm not taking Nsaids.  lol  When I know I can function better when I take them.  Do you think Zantac is okay to take first for the PIP?  That way I wouldn't have to take the PPI everyday just the days I take an Nsaid.  Prilosec made me so nauseated.  Than I had to take Zofran for the nausea.  lol  

I tried many to get one strong enough I'll look at the bottle n see what it is when I get home

In general, he says no.  If I had a specific situation where I needed to take them, I'm really not sure, since that doesn't apply to me.  I'd ask him.  What do your doctors say?

If absolutely have to take something, make sure that you are on an acid reducer or ppi ( proton pump inhibitor). Since I need to take a baby aspirin daily, my surgeon and pcp said I needed to take an acid reducer or proton pump inhibitor.

check with your doctor .

I believe he generally explains that there is an increased risk and that they are not great for anyone, but it's worse for us.  I don't believe that he has a definitive position on it, but would prefer if we took something else.  I can ask him in more detail at group unless someone else has a more concrete answer.

OH dear! So, the what do we take for headaches? Tylenol? 

So I should not take anvil, or ibuprofen now?
