Whatcha eating today VSGers...Friday!!
That's is interesting with the grains. On something like oatmeal do you put stuff in it or eat it pretty much plain? What SHOULD happen with oatmeal (whole old fashioned steel cut rolled oats not instant) is that it should take a long time to digest and should keep your blood sugar stable for that time. That SHOULD translate into no cravings. Now cravings are partially psychological so that could be a contributing factor too. I have found when I have a high carb day on purpose the next day I am not hungry at all. I tried experimenting with having 1 high carb day per week and 1 moderate carb day per week (per one of the carb cycling books I read) and I found I was hungry all the time. My high carb days (when I do them which lately I have not been) my carbs are brown rice, whole wheat wraps and some seed crackers. All stuff that is slow digesting and low glycemic.
Pretty much was making it like I make my coffee 1 pack splenda and 2 tbsp half and half AND I would eat it with a boiled egg to have the protein/carb together thing....
Yeah I'm a BIG experimenter, especially on myself. At the onslaught I was FEELING hungry...which for ME means "ok over acid production and took my acid pills" which is an EASY fix BUT the key for me is SOMETHING is the acid over production etc etc. So I omitted my diet and started from scratch and slowly added in the carbs that I had been eating (whether it was from a vegetable, a fruit, whole grain bread, brown rice, or my oatmeal) and that's how I discovered what it was. So it's not just FELT hungry and in addition in the following days it triggered cravings. I'm not AS hungry, nor do I have issues with acid when I ate ice cream (which yeah I experimented on that too).
My body is an experiment....but I might try it again just on Tuesday and see but feeling like you are an empty pit that needs to be filled won't work for my life.

Yeah, if you use a treadmill or an eliptical, use the fat burn programs and keep your heart rate in the fat burn mode. I have been reading and listening a lot to how cardio works and basically we want lower impact lower heart rate activities longer (so 30/60/90 mins) activities to burn fat. Otherwise your body actually stops burning fat. Now I am not saying you shouldn't do both. I run a couple times a week which is not for fat burn, but I also do the bike/treadmill/eliptical/stairclimber a couple times a week too in the fat burn mode. Now you are down to your last 10 lbs, that could be a game changer. I still have 60+ to go, so this is still working for me. I think the phsiology is sound though.

I want to OG post op once, I just got soup and that was it. I didnt touch the bread sticks even though I know they are amazing. Luckily my cousin is on a diet so I may convince her to not even have them on the table! But if she wants them its okay, I can handle having them in my face and not eating them. The bread takes up too much room for the chicken I want (or just salad) havent decided yet just where and what to eat. But bread isnt in my diet plan.
The muffins sound delish. I may keep the recipe for further out, but pass it on to my aunt who loves pumpkin anything!
