Surgery was on February 18th, 2013!

I am so excited that my surgery was done on 02-18-2013!  Everything went well!  I stayed overnight in the hospital.  I passed my leak test Tuesday morning and was able to advance to pureed foods, already!  Still having a hard time eating, but am getting plenty of water in!  I really don't feel hungry, in fact, I dread eating, but I make myself do it!  I started out at 432# in October of 2012 and had to get under 400# before my surgeon would operate.  I was around 383# the day of surgery!  Would welcome any and all friends!

Sincerely,

Christina aka Tina

Congrats! That is awesome! I can't believe you get pureed. I was same date -2/18 and still on clear liquids until Monday. So jelly
I have been satisfied with water until yesterday.

Wow...you're on purees already?!? That's cool...I was sleeved the day after you and am on clear liquids for a full week.  Hopefully when I see the surgeon next week he'll ok me to move on to purees.  I don't really mind the clear liquids since I've got to struggle to even get those in.  I don't think I'd be able to tolerate a thicker texture yet.  Best of luck to you on this journey!

Thank you, everyone!  The bariatric center that I went to, has you go straight to pureed foods after surgery!  Also, the pre-op diet wasn't liquid, either.  It was low sugar and low fat!  :-)

Great! Congratulations on a successful surgery and what sounds like a very positive outlook! You will succeed with that attitude I am sure. I also went very wuickly to purees. No problem with a faster food progression and my sleeve tolerates everything really well. Good luck to you in your journey!
