I'm not looking forward to that, either.  I don't know yet what my doctor's pre-op diet is going to consist of, but I'm sure it's going to be hard.  Hang in there.  You're almost there!

Are you drinking protein drinks? Getting extra protein does help with the hunger. Also, if it helps you to stay away from the mall and other places with food odors, by all means do it. No need to torture yourself.

good luck! Pretty soon you'll be post op and won't feel this kind of hunger for a while.

It will get better! I had to do 2 weeks of Slim Fast shakes ONLY. I ended up making sure that I could just pick up my daughter from school without having to see anyone. I was crabby, tired, and STARVING. Hubby was away for training and if he mentioned the word "dinner" it was a cursing storm. You can do this!

It is torture.  I couldn'****ch TV, because of all of the ads and food shows.  Just grit your teeth and push through it.  You can do this!

Honestly .. The pre op diet is no fun.. And neither are the post op liquids ... BUT.. 5-6 weeks out you will be thinner, feel great .. And be happy and thrilled.. And you will quickly forget how difficult it was ..
I am almost 6 weeks out .. Just off puréed foods .. On soft foods .. In Vegas and feeling great .... Stay determined .. It's a small amount if time compared to the successes ahead!!

The pre op diet is torture for lots of people, myself included. Post surgery this will be just an annoying memory. Do the best you can. It definitely gets better.

Pre-op was the absolute worst 2 weeks of my life.  I actually had to go to dinner one night because my family was in town.  I just sat there drinking iced tea.  I really had to break up with food.  Every social occasion that I celebrated revolved around it.  Now I can go to parties and out to eat and don't spend my entire night obsessing over the food...

Just hide if you need to, I am pretty sure that there were tears shed by me...

Once you have the surgery, it is much easier to be on liquids and I spent a lot of time watching Food Network.  I don't know why, but now it really does not make me run to the pantry anymore!

Stay strong, and yes, it does get better!
