Month 3 Stats; weight, blood work and clothes!
Good afternoon! I meant to do this yesterday, since I weigh in on Saturdays, but in celebration of a long weekend, I have an ear infection and hives! I really know how to have a good time, huh?
So here are my three month stats (and I did add this to my signature, since I really like to see everyone's monthly stats!):
Starting weight: 260
Pre-op: -10 (My ticker started with my surgery weight and just shows progress since surgery)
Month 1: -15.6
Month 2: -11.8
Month 3: -11.4
Loss since surgery = 38.8; Total Loss = 48.8
Overall, this is both easier and harder than I expected. My recovery went very well, no problems eating and taking in fluids. No problems eating anything. No upchucking (to date! YAY!). But staying on plan is often still a challenge because I still "want" foods that don't support my weight loss!
So at least every couple of days, and sometimes every day, I find myself asking if the food I want will support my weight loss or slow my weight loss. I am coming to terms that this battle will most likely be one that I have every day.
I just got my blood work done this week, and overall my stats were right smack in the middle or normal for everything except calcuim (too high) and cholesterol (just 1 point into borderline high!).
From the clothing size perspective, local charities are ecstatic! They are always looking for plus size clothes, and since I'd kept everything for three full sizes, and during this time had a job where I had to wear suits, let's just say I had a load of clothes, and even with alterations, were too big.
When I started, my pants were a 24/26, depending on the cut and brand. The pants I bought yesterday were all size 18W and fit perfectly.
As for tops, I was wearing a 2X mostly, and the shirt I bought yesterday was a 16W.
So, ladies and gentlemen, sticking to my plan is paying off! My plan is low carb, since pre-op I had found that to work best for me: 600-800 calories; 20-40 carbs (most days 20 or under); and 80-100 g of protein, and so much water/liquid that I need to put a computer station in the toilet stall at work!
Thanks to everyone who takes time to provide inspirational words and food plan suggestions! I'm doing my best to learn from you and take your advice to heart!
