Women's Shelter Needs Plus-Sized Clothing -- Maryland people or anyone who wants to mail...
A coworker knows that I'm looking for smaller clothes, so she sent me a link to thrift store -- which I noticed was run by House of Ruth, a local women's shelter. So I looked at the donation guidelines and emailed their donation coordinator who said they ALWAYS need plus-sized clothing either for their thrift store or for the residents -- and they would accept plus-sized donations regardless of the season (they were soliciting spring clothes now, but I had black, navy and brown suits too).
So, since it seems that many of us have friends, relatives or have been personally affected by domestic violence, I would pass along this reminder to check their local shelters as well. Goodwill is a great organization too, but since I was not aware of this need, I wasn't sure if others were either!
Certainly, if anyone wants to put items in a box and send them my way, I'll be happy to pass them along! Their thrift shop is close to me, and I expect I'll be making a few trips!
Do you have the address? I have tons that I could drive over. I am local.

Sure -- I didn't include it at first because I wasn't sure it was correct. This is less than a mile from my house, and I go to this shopping center a lot, but I've never seen Ruth's Closet there! I guess I'll have to look harder!
