PB & J protein shake

Just curious how you will incorporate this shake in into your WL plan. Seriously, not trying to be an ass, but curious. Since it's super high in calories I'm curious to know how you think this will effect your WL.

My experience was that even with all the exercise I did during WL - especially near the end - I had to cut back on calories slightly to get to goal, not add them. Please let me know. Your calorie plan could also be higher than mine was.

My "opinion"...... I think it is offensive on several levels.......but than..... it's my "opinion" and you are entitled to yours....

I could blow holes in your approach....... but, than it would just be my opinion against yours......

I say go for it !!!! You got this figured out !!! Stick with your surgeons plan !!!

Top it with a Reese's Mini Peanut Butter Cup...... only 4carbs at 36cals and another gram of protein !!!

I can't figure out where all the calories are coming from, unless there is some sugar in there somewhere?

Let us identify where it can be made "better" and where it is "going awry".

I am not low carb, calorie counting, etc. at this point. I do what I need to to meet my goals period. I would just do it differently to suit my own wants and needs.

Pb2 - Powdered Peanut Butter, 1 tbsp - Serving Size: 1 tbsp, Calories: 23, Fat: 1g, Carbs: 1g, Protein: 3g
Cottage Cheese - Daisy, Low Fat, 2%, 1/2 cup - Serving Size: 1/2 cup, Calories: 90, Fat: 2.5g, Carbs: 4g, Protein: 14g
Six Star - Pro Nutrition - Whey Protein Elite Series Vanilla Cream, 1 level scoop - Serving Size: 1 Scoop (42g), Calories: 160, Fat: 1g, Carbs: 8g, Protein: 30g
Trader Joe's - Coconut Milk Beverage, Vanilla, 1/2 cup - Serving Size: 1/2 cup (120 ml/ 4 oz), Calories: 45, Fat: 2.5g, Carbs: 4.5g, Protein: .5g
Strawberries - Raw, 0.25 cup, halves (I used 1 1/2 frozen strawberry) - Serving Size: 1/4 cup, Calories: 12.25, Fat: 0g, Carbs: 3g, Protein: .25g
1/2 C water
Calories 330 Carbs 23 Protein 48 Fat 7

MY way would be:

Pb2 - Powdered Peanut Butter, 1 tbsp - Serving Size: 1 tbsp, Calories: 23, Fat: 1g, Carbs: 1g, Protein: 3g
Cottage Cheese - 1%, 1/2 cup - Serving Size: 1/2 cup, Calories: 80, Fat: 1g, Carbs: 6g, Protein: 11g
Six Star - Pro Nutrition - Whey Protein Elite Series Vanilla Cream, 1 level scoop - Serving Size: 1 Scoop (42g), Calories: 160, Fat: 1g, Carbs: 8g, Protein: 30g
Trader Joe's - Coconut Milk Beverage, Vanilla, 1/2 cup - POINTLESS CALORIES - WHY? Don't waste the calories, fat and carbs!!!
Strawberries - Raw, 0.25 cup, halves - Raw and frozen are not always the same... frozen tends to be more compact and higher sugars so watch this. - Serving Size: 1/4 cup, Calories: 12.25, Fat: 0g, Carbs: 3g, Protein: .25g
1/2 C water - make it 3/4-1cup and ditch the coconut milk beverage... If you really want more vanilla add a drop or three of french vanilla stevia but it shouldn't be required with vanilla powder.
Calories 275 (225 with alternate powder), Carbs 18 (with my alternate powder there is 1 not 8 so 11g), Protein 44.25 (mine would be 41.25 with my alternate powder), Fat 3g

If you want to do this then do it... but do it cleaner... lighter on the carbs but not "too light", lower fat so your calories are more inline...

AND...

DO NOT EVER USE THE TERM YOU USED AGAIN.

I might not look Jewish. I might not live Kosher. But as the descendant of a German Jew I get pretty pissy over this term.

Thanks in advance!

Good luck on re-working things to come in line better for future endevors.

As I recall the original post used the terms "carb nazi" and "calorie nazi" or words very similar.  That sounded offensive and negative and didn't add anything helpful to your post.   You chose to lead with that.

Yes, a LOT of newbies roam these boards.  At only 11 weeks out I'm sure I'm still considered a newbie.  Lots of newbies come here to try to make sense of what their surgeons or nutritionists tell them to do, often when they're vulnerable preop dieters or very vulnerable postops, especially when they're trying to deal with protein shake overload.  Using a term like "carb nazi" could very well put the idea in a newbie's mind that it's a absolutely a negative to be mindful of carbs or calorie counting and that anything goes as long as it's a protein shake.

If this type of thing works for you, great.  You desire respect for your POV.  It's not out of line for carb-sensitive people to desire respect for their POV as well.
