I took the plunge and chopped it off!! What do ya'll think?? I really like it!!

That is my 2 yr old with me BTW!!

I'm so tired of my hair breaking and just plain shedding, so I'm considering getting a 'Pixie' cut. What do yall think?? I know i have a long face and I'm afraid if I do then it will just make me look too butch. I want to still look feminine but I want to chop off all of this fried frayed mess that I've got!

I think you can pull it off. Might I suggest leaving it a little longer on top towards the front? Kind of like a swooping bangs sort of deal? I have no idea what it's called. lol I wouldn't say go all Anne Hathaway, but a little bit longer. You can pull that off. :)

I think you could definitely pull it off.  I've always thought short hair looks more flattering on long faces rather than round ones. Short hair can still look feminine if you style it right!

But no...

A shaggy bob. That would work with what you are dealing with...

Or a bob with long razored ends...

The top would be my first choice for you because it has depth throughout so any shorter pieces will flow but the second allows you to still curl it if you so choose.

Why don't you do something like how Pink wears hers.  I think that would look good with your face shape!

I did it in 2 steps, my hairdresser said I seemed too emotional so she cut it short, but then about 3 weeks later I went back and cut it shorter, did it for the same reason, kind of love it, may go even shorter! It will grow back.

I vote the longer shaggy bob picture posted.... I think it is still very feminine and sexy, some long pieces, it is soft.  I think sometimes a short pixie cut can make you look older... middle age mom hair (sorry because I am a middle aged or older... 49... mom, but my step daughter got a pixie at age 15 and she looked 35... it looked good on her, just made her look older). I think shaggy bob is sexy!

Post pics of whatever you do, I have very long fine hair and it is falling out so much, Im going to have to look at it as an opportunity to try something new as well.  Funny, but I have saved a pic of that shaggy bob style from several years ago in case I ever had the nerve to cut it that short (I have never been shorter than shoulder length in my life, and usually about 6 inches longer).

Good Luck!

If you haven't already, upload your photo to some of those sites that let you try new hairstyles (like http://www.ivillage.com/virtual-makeover#) . It helped me decide. I also had bad hair loss starting at 3 months -- and I'm not a fan of my shorter hair but it really did help stop me from obsessing about the hair loss and worrying if other people notice that my thick gorgeous hair has fallen out. I don't think my hair loss was as noticeable with the shorter hair so hopefully that is the case for you too!  :)

I think you can definitely pull off a shorter style, like a longer shaggy pixie. The nice thing about hair -- if you hate it, it'll grow back soon enough.

Good luck with your decision & post photos!
