Weekly goals...LET'S GO!!!
Well my goals are somewhat a continuation:
1.) Continue goal setting each day. I have had to become a bit regimented so I don't graze. Now I was grazing on a spoonful of cottage cheese here and there, but I really want to learn to only eat at meal times and allow myself a snack. So with that said I have started setting two alarms after each meal. One is set for five or six hours which is the next meal time and then one midwa y through to have a snack. Then I know how much fluids I have to get in before the next meal. I know that seems obssessive but since I am currently kind of home bound, I seem to lose track of things and this keeps me on the straight and narrow which is important at this phase.
2) Exercise: Still a weakness for me. I just want to be normal and get up and walk. Being able to blame my lymphedema before surgery made it easier to ignore my need to work out. Now the swelling is gone and it doesn't hurt with every move I make with my legs and I am having to grieve my inability to walk. I do m strengthening exercises religiously each day...but pushing myself to do the Richard Simmon wheelchair work out is a bit tougher. This week I am going to be more compliant and strive to do it 5 of the 7 days.
3. Fluids: Trying to increase my fluid intake to 80 oz and then to 90 oz next week. I feel like an overflowing sink, but it has to be done.
4. Rereading my list I decided my final goal will be about my head issues. Who wants to do things they should do? Ever tried to tell one of your kids they "should" clean their room? Well you know they are jumping up and down and running to their room for that opportunity. So this week rather than trying or shoulding I am going to change my language to "I will" and "I want". The truth is I want to lose this weight and I want to be compliant and aggressive with my change in lifestyle so I will meet these goals.
