I'm almost 5 weeks post op.  Woke up this morning and had some dry heaving.  Hadn't even eaten anything.  I've been nauseated all day.  What's going on I should be getting better not worse?  This is the first time I've thrown up since surgery.

Could it be dehydration?

Or perhaps something you ate the night before disagreed with you.

Or it could be simply a cold or flu coming on ... it is unfortunately the season for that.

The past 4 or 5  days I have been nauseated every morning and afternoon.  But this is the first time I throw up.  I didn't seem to have an immediate reaction to anything I ate. Today however I decided to only have liquids and my vitamins and not eat.   i have been getting plenty of fluids.  And I don't think it's a cold or the flu because i have no other symptoms of the cold or flu.

Forgive me for asking...

How are the bowel movements???

If it's been more than 3 days...you should check with the doc and get on something ( Miralax  works like a charm for many).

I am really unsure what to tell you as I don't tend to have these issues.  If I am starting to think I might I take a Zantac 150 and sometimes a Gaviscon but these are for acid and heartburn more than nausea.

I googled this site and got a few ideas from previous posts ...

Your multi-vitamin ... http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/wls_lightweights/4585995/V itamins-nausea/

Do you have your gall bladder?  I know that this can be an issue.

Just some thoughts.

My vitamins do make me nauseated.  I don't know what to do about that cause I've tried different ones.  All the same.

I do have my gall bladder.  Having it causes nausea or not having it?

Having it. My gallbladder was the WHOLE reason I was nauseated from day 1 with my VSG and even BEFORE. No one had ever looked at my gallbladder before. I was constantly nauseated, I was just so used to it. Turns out it was full of sludge, gallstones & was only functioning at 3%! 3 weeks after having it removed I haven't felt nauseated ONCE. Having it taken out was a miracle for me.

Wow, however I'm confused cause in my preop testing they tested it and they said it was beautiful.  Now stones or issues.  Can they miss if there's a problem?
