For heart reasons?  Not unless there's a problem.  And post sleeve, I think aspirin is a no no.

We don't have medicine restrictions post - sleeve.  Those are more for post-RNY or other surgeries.  It's a reason many people choose the sleeve over other surgeries.

I really think it depends on your personal and family history. If you don't have any clotting issues I think the benefits are worth it. LD aspirin is linked to lower rates of cancers, heart disease, strokes, and I just read a journal article about its link to lower rates of Alzheimers. I don't take one everyday but I do a few times a week. Daily ingestion was causing my blood to thin a little too much so I had to cut back.  I started taking it because a routine colonoscopy show I had a few polyps (non cancerous). Aspirin helps keep polyps from develop.

Oh, really!, about the Aspirin helping polyps.. They discovered I had a few when they were exploring me when they were trying to figure out what was wrong with me and it was the leak!!

Because I fly a lot (long distance) my surgeon said I should take a baby aspirin but o ly when I travel. For some reason my right leg swells up when I fly and I get pains in my leg. I have had the ultrasound for DVT but everything was fine. He said I cannot fly for 1 month minimum post op unless there is a family emergency and I need to fly back sooner. I am taking a trip to see family 2/20-3/13 and hopefully soon after is when I will have my surgery. I have no plans to travel again until July when I go back to visit as well as go to my cousins wedding in the Dominican Republic!

Dr.Oz also stated the other day. You should drink a half of glass of water before taking it and the other half other half after, so it doesn't stick to your stomach. And he was talking normal stomach...So that is something to take note on!!

so, what you're saying is, that someone like me, who is 47...for just the health of it..take a low dose aspirin?  daily or like one mentioned..a couple times a week..with lots of water?  huh...I'll have to talk to my doctor about it.

Hey that's what Dr. Oz says and he's a heart surgeon! Just a thought. We always could be a start in our families!
