It's going to be a rough day

Seriously, you're only what?  6 or 7 weeks out from really extensive PS?  Yards of incisions that are healing?  A lymphatic system that's trying to re-establi****self?  I wouldn't have been doing a walk of shame out of spin class.  I would have been celebrating that I made it for 30 minutes!

The scale right now is not your friend.  It's telling you all sorts of lies that mess with your head.  After all, you KNOW it's all fluid retention, right?  So stay off the frigging scale!

Be kind to your healing body and to yourself.

Ditto this.

Part of why you are so successful is how much you push yourself. Give yourself credit for that drive you have inside of you and know that yes, you will survive this day and others. You are successful as is today and will endure today to enjoy further, even more outrageous successes.

Elina, here is what I am going to imagine:

I am going to imagine that I am  enjoying a nourishing lunch at Miss Bobbie's Low Carb cafe in Tustin. Achbbrown is there with me.

We are talking, smiling, and I get to look her in the eye and tell her how happy I am that she is doing so well! She and I will talk bout the story of the Tortise and the Hare --- how we think we have to identify with the Hare's zipzip speed, because it is so exciting and impressive. The tortise is seemingly not as exciting, but she just keeps on keeping on, slowly, and maybe her progress isn't as noticeable at first as the Hare's progress is. But the thing is, the Tortise IS exciting, because she DOES GET TO HER GOAL.  Tortise believes in herself. She has wisdom, and she knows that she has a history of getting things done in HER time ...not anybody else's time, or style. She is beautiful, brave, strong, and every day she goes a bit further, a bit further....

I would remind our dear friend Achbbrown that she has chosen a challenging path with both of her surgeries, because she knows that sometimes great challenge and risk yields great, tremendous rewards. ... and she is already reaping rewards!!

Nothing she has done is shameful, or worthy of giving in to discouragment...in fact, she is the very poster child for courage. One thing that I like about Achbbrown is the humor she brings to her journey. We are all so lucky that she shares it with us.

Then, I would give her a big, big hug, and remind her that her progress helps ME to keep on going in my journey.

Elina, thank you for your wonderful "imagining" suggestion.

Achbbrown, take a deep breath, make a cup of your favorite tea, and know that you are doing absolutely well!!

HUGS!
