Thanks for all the messages, I know I shouldn't compare, but I just want to make sure I'm on track! I probably do eat a few more carbs than I should-I really can eat just about anything I want-just smaller amounts. I guess I would rather have it that way than not be able to enjoy anything used to enjoy. I just have to keep reminding myself, as long as the numbers keep going down, I should be happy.
I had my surgery 11/28/12. I am down 51 pounds as of yesterday morning. BUT..... here's what you don't know. When I had my surgery I still had a lot of water weight still on - my body has always had a problem getting rid of fluid. My toes and fingers were sausages for God sakes. I haven't been able to stomach many things after surgery. What I once liked, is no longer. The day my doctor put me on soft foods was the day acid reflux came to town. My acid reflux is kicking my butt daily so eating what I can actually get down is miserable and minimal. Hoping the new prescription kicks in soon. Getting in my fluids is extremely difficult because of the acid reflux. Oh, and the day after Christmas my DH and I got the flu which we are still fighting and winning finally. I think besides all that, on a good note, my thyroid medication is actually starting to work and my metabolism is working more efficient than before which is also helping with weight loss numbers.
So just because the number looks really good, doesn't mean I had an easy breezy time getting there. Don't get caught up in the number. I would gladly trade anyone who has had an easy transition from surgery with a lower number. Right now, I'm taking each day as it comes and look forward to the day that i can actually enjoy my new small meals and drink something other than water. Hope that helps.
