Need ideas for breakfast...no EGGS please.
I am almost 7 weeks post-op and I'm looking for some ideas of what I could try eating for breakfast. I CANNOT eat EGGS. It's not an allergy but more of an intolerance. I've been like that since before surgery and it's only gotten worse. Personally, I love eggs. I try to sneak some in every once in a while then I spend the next few hours bringing them back up. (TMI I know) I've tried egg beaters and they're okay, but not my favorite. So I'm running out of ideas. I tried greek yogurt and I can't stand it. Regular yogurt is ok, but not much in the way of protein. Before my VSG, breakfast was my favorite meal of the day. I loved to make all those high carb things like french toast and pancakes and breakfast burritos. Now I'm at a loss.. I eat whatever is left over from the day before, a protein shake or sometimes nothing at all. I'm open to all suggestions! Thanks so much and Happy Holidays to you all!
protein pancakes or crepes!

Very sad about the eggs! Sorry!
Okay, I love breakfast, too. Though, I have to be honest most days it's a protein coffee followed by Greek Yogurt two hours later - just what you hate! (Have you tried flavoring the Greek yogurt with SF Torani Syrups? That's what I do and I think it's really good that way.)
One thing I've done is cook up some turkey sausage (the crumbly kind), add in some chopped spinach and garlic and onion and then roll a TBS or two up in some sliced deli turkey with a little hot sauce and greek yogurt (instead of sour cream). I can eat two of those. It's a nice little breakfast. Sort of a take on a Jose's Special.
I do leftovers when I'm tired of eggs. You should have seen the look on my surgeon's face when he asked what I'd had to eat the day before, and said, start with breakfast. I said Bison/Beef meatloaf. He said, For Breakfast? LOL!
You can't have eggs or protein shakes all the time. I also had some Italian marinated Pork Tenderloin (fresh, then you roast it) for breakfast, chicken enchiladas (the filling, with cheese and salsa) -- anything except fish. Can't go for that in the morning!
Careful with protein pancakes -- when I was on Atkins, I found that bread substitutes sometimes triggered cravings for me -- so I'd want MORE protein pancakes or muffins -- so just be careful!
Cottage cheese (1% or fat free) is a good choice if you can tolerate it and if it's on your plan. High protein, low carb, very low or no fat depending on which one you choose. You can also add unflavored protein powder to it to up the protein count.
I have also enjoyed Morningstar Farms Original Grillers veggie burgers. A meal of one burger with a wedge of reduced-fat Laughing Cow cheese melted on top is yummy to me and packs a decent amount of protein.
Hope this helps!
