Still not losing

I know I've heard of the three week stall, but it's been a week and half and I've lost NOTHING!  I'm getting very discouraged.  I can't be stuck at this weight, I don't eat but 600-700 calories a day.  How can my body be holding on to this weight?  URGH!!! I'm worried I'm going to be one of the failures.

With everything else that's going on in the world, I know this is not a huge deal to most, but I went thru a lot to get this surgery and then a lot after the surgery, I really hope that 27 lbs isn't the most I'm going to lose!

The three week stall can last a few weeks, you are right on schedule.  I know this still doesn't make it better for you, but the stress is just not helping you.  Take a deep breath and ride this out, it will break soon enough. Hang in there, this is totally normal.

You might consider increasing your water consumption and your protein grams while keeping your calories at the same level or even a bit lower.

I just came off of a 2 week stall. I was quite discouraged also. But don't worry, it does end. As long as you're doing what your supposed to and getting in lots of walking.  I weigh myself on Saturdays and yesterday I was thrilled to see a 5 pound loss. So hang in there!

Barb, glad your stall is over!  Jan!!  We are in the same boat!  UGH!  Been at 202lbs for a week and a half.  Ready to blow up my scale!  Hoping its TOM that's making the stall hang around as long as it has.  And to stall right before ONEderland...makes me crazy.

Mine started at EXACTLY week 3, and lasted SIXTEEN days.  I was nearly in tears everyday.  But then it passed, and I've lost another 12 lbs in the 2 weeks since it broke.  I know it's discouraging, and it truly sucks, but your body is just re-calibrating and adjusting.  It will pass because it has too.  Instead of making yourself crazy like I did, don't weigh yourself every day.  Instead, focus on drinking as much water as you can, and getting as much protein in as you can. When you feel like jumping on the scale, go for a walk instead.   Weigh yourself in a week, and I bet you'll see some progress.

My nutritionist said she has seen patients who have stalled every time they moved up a food stage postop.

I am going through the same thing.  VSG on 10/17/12 & only lost 23.5 lbs!  I'm so discouraged. I went through too much for it to end here.  I'm afraid I'm the surgical failure.  I eat the same as you are & exercising daily.  I'm desperate for this stall to end soon!!!!

Thing is with only 600-700 calories, our bodies HAVE to dump this weight someplace at some time!!  I just can't help myself, i get on the scale hoping for even some ounces lost and it's the same.  I actually had my daughter get on my scale to make sure it wasn't just stuck at 210!  It did go down one day to 209.4 but then went right back to 210 the next day.  Unbelievable!!
