Well i guess i wont be getting surgery on the 28th.
Just like i thought, my work denied my request off for my Dec 28th surgery (because i only gave a 23 day notice, not 30days). This means that i had to cancel the surgery, and i will be rescheduling.
I am hoping and praying that my insurance doesn't find a way to deny me, their approval is only good until the 31st of this year. I do have a call-in to my RN to see if they will be able to just re-submit all of my tests after the 1st of the year, or if i will have to re-do all of those as well.
I just cant wait until a get a DATE. Im tired of waffling, i want to know when i will be getting surgery. Im a planner, so it is extra frustrating to me.
Well on the bright side, I will be in Disney world having a BLAST in less that 2 months, YAYYY!!!
Oh and I wont be on a 10 day liquid diet during Christmas =))))
I'm sorry about this, but yes Disney is the bright side:) I remember talking to you about it, and how you might feel then. You should check out the FMLA that the girls brought up...either way, good luck to you:)
So sorry you are having trouble with work! After all the hoops, I wouldn't think your job would be so strict. I would talk to someone higher up if the problem is because of lack of coverage of the days off and research your FLMA. Temporary disability is the right of all working US citizens! I hope your surgeon can finagle something with your insurance!
If your employer is covered under FMLA law (depends on the size of the company) then you need to fight this. Here is the actual description of notice from the law: Since approval is only good through the end of the year I would think that thissituation falls under the "when 30 days is not possible" part. Call your HR department and fight this :)

Employee Responsibilities
Employees must provide 30 days advance notice of the need to take FMLA leave when the need is foreseeable. When 30 days notice is not possible, the employee must provide notice as soon as practicable and generally must comply with an employer’s normal call-in procedures.
I had to reschedule as well due to work not approving the time off. It sucks and yes technically they cannot deny you since your doctor and insurance have deemed it medically necessary, BUT it can put a target on your back and a black spot on your record. My company has zero tolerance for retaliation, but good luck proving something to be retaliation.
