Yes "admitting" it was easy is hard for some.  Compared to preop this is by far the EASIEST time I've had dealing with weight!!  Must do OUR parts to make it super easy lol =)

YAY for you, Ms. Shell--I'm so glad you've stuck around here! You are a total star, as always. (And, as always, when you talk about your mom, I say a little prayer for both of our beloved moms and for us!)...

I want to see pics of Thailand!!

xoxo,

Lizanne

thank you for your awesome post Ms. Shell. very inspirational. It always ****** me off when people tell me....you took the easy way out....you could of done this with exercise and eating right.

You know what I tell them? "I have done exercise and eating right in the past and it just comes right back. I've been yo-yoing in my weight my entire life and it was time for a permanent change. And my new stomach isn't an easy thing. It was major surgery and I have had to change my eating habits entirely and will have to do this for the rest of my life. So, no, I didn't take the EASY way out."

They usually shut up!

It shouldn't matter how you lose the weight as long as you do. People need to be more positive and less judgmental about WLS.

Congrats on your five years and maintaining your weight! I love my new "TOOL"!

HW: 235, SW: 227, CW: 152.0, 83 lbs lost since 10/22/12 --Fear less, hope more, eat less, chew more, whine less, breathe more, talk less, say more, hate less, love more, and good things will be yours.

Well you tell them...I usually shut them up with the car analogy =)  I'm blessed to not have ONE person in my life who is judgemental about the things I do...so I'm blessed.  Keep rocking that tool!!

angry Yeah!

I never hesitate to agree when someone says I took the easy way.. I say, yes- the VSG made it easier to lose, but more importantly, it makes something near impossible- maintaining a healthy weight, finally really possible.

I've lost it the hard way. I gained it back. I am not Superwoman, there's no reason to keep battling an unwinnable war with a slingshot when you can have the big guns on your side.

Exactly!!!  I like that my VSG is just the BIG GUN I needed =)
