The "easy" way out...5 years and counting!!!
Wonderful post, Ms. Shell! I will agree that VSG made weight loss much easier than before! And, like you, I find getting on track after a little off plan eating is far easier to do than it was before, but then again, I am only a year out (well, next week anyway!).
What I love so much is that you are so real about your journey. You just lay it out there for us all to see. It is great that you accept yourself and are so up beat about your accomplishments. We can all certainly learn from your example.
I hated being fat. I always wanted to be tall and slim with legs for days, but that was not what God gave me. I'm short and husky-or well muscled, take your pick. But like you, I'm loving the me I am! I am pretty happy where I am. My long term goal is now just to maintain and reduce body fat a little more.
Your post is a great reminder to look at life as the glass half full! Thanks for brightening my day!

This is my all time favorite post since I have been a member of this community!
I'm not sure what else I can add, but Ms. Shell you are one of my favorite people! You always tell it like it is, you own up to your imperfections, and yet you are still on this board, helping others. I am so glad you had a great vacation and a big congrats to 5 years! Looking forward to much more of your wisdom.

I'm glad your vacation was fun, that you are home safe, and that you always keep things real. I'm another one of those people who could never get more than a few pounds off and then stop. No matter what I tried, 25-27 pounds was the max that would ever come off. My mother also died from obesity related problems. I had already decided to get VSG before she died, but that made me push Kaiser even more. I'm so glad I did, but I knew I needed this tool so much I was willing to drain the savings and max the credit card if I needed to self pay. And I will also say that those who think I took the easy way irritate the heck out of me. If weight loss was easy, nobody would be obese.
