BOWEL PREP?? WHAT??

They consider my "Eat your favorite breakfast before 10 am, protein drinks only until 6, clear liquids until midnight as my bowel prep.

Oddly I DID have to do this when I had my band but when I just had my sleeve done, by a different doc, he didn't require it. Instead I have to do post op loveox for 12 days. Not sure which is worse ;)

I have to do thin liquids the day before surgery and 1 ounce milk of Magnesia at 4 pm the night before surgery. They say is to prevent constipation after surgery.

I did!  4 Ducalax tablets and a bottle of laxative !  Couldn't have anything but clear liquids!

My pre-opt instructions were actually DS pre-opt instructions.  But my surgeon has everyone follow these instructions just in case.  Can't go wrong with your bowels cleaned out if you need more extensive surgery at the table than anticipated.

At this point, I don't recall whether it's magnesium sulfate or citrate, whichever one you drink to make you poop your intestines out from dusk til dawn.
