Travelling with Fred - open to suggestions
Food is being a bit of an issue and what I'm doing at the mo probably isn't ideal. Keeping in mind that Fred doesn't like eggs has trouble with more than an ounce of chicken or fish and I limit cheese to an ounce once or twice a week. I've come up with something that is working, but could undoubtedly use some tweaking.
We're skipping the starch heavy hotel breakfast other than the excellent coffee and I'm having a protein shake and 1/4-1/2 cup of oatmeal or All Bran/Hi Lo mix. (Barry is having eggs, cereal and fruit)
While we're out I focus on calorie free drinks and eat a few bites of whatever Barry gets at mealtimes. Today was a bit of chicken and a couple of bites of beans from his plate of Mexican. Yesterday was a bit of chicken, 1/2 an inari and a bite of California roll.
Supper is the same sort of thing, then once we're back in our room I have another shake and 1/2 cup of whatever Barry makes, some Greek yogurt or some cottage cheese.
I'm following my own rules of fluids, then protein, then fibre, but would love some ideas of non temperature sensitive things I could throw in my bag as we head out the door in the mornings. We have a Safeway nearby and we have a fridge, microwave, small rice cooker and means of cooking my cottage cheese version of pancakes available. Local food leans heavily on Japanese, Chinese, Korean and chain fast food.
Bring on the suggestions.

We're off to Hanauma Bay tomorrow with a picnic of sorts. (And snorkels and swimsuits...)
Bento seems to be a good choice for us here. Barry normally dislikes Asian food, but loves Japanese curry, so a curry bento works.
