I'm going to start a practice round tomorrow just for the day to see if I can do it so I'll be ready when it comes time.  :-)

Here's what I'm allowed to have.
3 or 4 protien shakes.
1 plain yogurt
chicken broth, beef stock and vegetable stock
jello
1/2 cup applesauce
1/2 cup cream of wheat
1 v-8
1/2 low fat soup thinned.

I think I can, we'll see if I actually do.

Wow,  I  commend you on your eagerness!  I  have a  three week liquid diet preop and I am only allowed 3-4 protien shakes and water a day. Jealous that you get some  variety!  I am 2 days away from surgery and I so  glas to  be at the   end.  Dig  deep!  You can do it.  Just know it's only  for a  short time!

I hope your surgery goes well.  Who's your surgeon?  I know Dr Alverez from Mexico sometimes has his patients to 3 weeks of a liquid diet depending on starting weight.   But I see the purpose since it shrinks your liver for safer surgery.

I started my liquid diet and needless to say I'm cheating every day. It's hard because with my job Im on my feet all day and working with people is tiring. I didn't think It'd be this hard Im so surprised honestly. But my doctor told me I can only have protein shakes, apple juice, cranberry juice, grape juice, broths and non fat yogurt. I imagine they're all kinda' the same and I'd like to be able to stick to the diet. So may try what you posted and se if I have better luck. I tend to make it through most the day hungry ofcourse but once 7 hits I'm like.. evil hahaha. My surgery is in 11 days and Im suppose to do the liquid diet for 2 weeks. I REALLY hope Im not messing anything up with not being able to do it completely yet. Im really worried about it but also I've read that some people only have to do it for two days and or 12 hours before so who knows. Maybe someone can shed some light for me..

Good luck though!! I hope you the best :).

Dr Joya.  I spoke with Gerald on the phone before.  I was considering surgery in Mexico awhile back and spoke with Gerald as well as a couple other patient codinators in Mexico.  I hope your surgery goes well.  I think the those juices have sugar in them unless you are using splenda.   Maybe replace the juice with the cream of wheat.  (that does have some carbs so not a lot)  But someone else posted on here that her doc also allowed the cream of wheat and it helped her feel more full.   The liquid diet might be tricker for you since your job is very active.   If you have to cheat  don't over cheat eat 3 oz of lean protein chicken or fish not butter or oil and 1/2 of cup of low carb vegges than go right back onto the liquid diet.

I just finished day 2 of 7 of my liquid diet! I have propel and black coffee early in the morning, followed by an Atkins protein shake. Then water, water, water! For lunch some Unjury chicken Soup. More water or some tea. A sugar free jello for afternoon snack, and yesterday I had a 98% cream of mushroom soup diluted with water and didn't even finish half! Tonight instead I had a shake and 6 oz of almond milk. I hear the days 4 & 5 are the worst!

Doing this I realize how much our works revolves around food! Every billboard, commercial, social gathering, FOOD!

My doc recommends 809-100 calories and I have come in at less than 500 each day!

Good job! Yeah I might try the cream of wheat. Ive been avoiding drinking juices because I find they almost make me want to have more sugar if that makes any sense. But I need to do something. Im a hair stylist and very busy I work 6 days a week any between 8 to 10 hours aday then have my 5 year old son full time.. so you can see the issue with trying to keep up with strickly liquid. I had to stop doing boot camp because I can barely make it through my day!

Some doctors don't do liquid diets.  The reason for the liquit diet is the calories/carb/fat control is easier.  But as long as you keep your carbs under 40, your calories under 1100 and your fat under 15 you are good from what I hear.   It's very hard to do that with solid food but I know Dr Aceves (Mexico) does a diet plan solid food that fits into that criticia.   It's like basic 3 oz protien (no added oil or butter) 4 oz low cal steamed veggies.  (3 x a day) than 2 snack inbetween meals 1 oz protien   I was going to get my surgery done in Mexico too that's why I'm familiar with the different diets for preop.
