Anyone make their own Sorbet/Frozen Protein stuff?
I am pre-op, but a compulsive planner! I searched the site to see if anyone had made sorbet (or other frozen "desserts") out of Isopure or other protein powders, and didn't find anything.
It seems to me that this would be the same process (more or less) as making your own sugar free popsicles, you'd just be using an ice cream maker instead popsicle molds.
Has anyone attempted this? I'm thinking this would be another option for my "clear liquid" phase (LOL--unless I turn out to be one of these people who end up tolerating hot/warm liquids better than cold!).

I have an ice cream maker and I tried this, hoping it would make me more happy to drink/eat my protein during my pre-op diet......
Personally I chug my protein shakes as quick as I can to get them down. I just hate them. Cold, warm, made with milk, made with water, frozen...... you get the idea.

Lee's Protein Pudding recipe
1 c. water, boil
1 pack plain gelatin, mix in to water
1 c. cold water, mix in
4 scoops Unjury protein powder, mix in, one scoop at a time
put in refrigerator until it gels.
In this form, it is pretty tasteless and goes down easily. Do not put the protein powder into any liquid that is hot (destroys it). That is why the liquid is cooled down first. This counts as liquid diet, so it can be used day 1 after surgery.

I have an ice cream maker I've used occasionally, but I tend to make a "soft-serve-like" concoction in my blender. It's just faster and easier.
Almond milk (low carb), protein powder, some flavoring, and a little ice. Xanthan gum and/or guar gum in VERY small quantities (like 1/4 - 1/2 tsp) can help thicken. My favorites at the moment are Click mocha with sf mocha syrup or peanut butter protein powder for a pb shake. Keeps me away from the froyo shop and other temptations at work!
