Endoscopy results

I had my endoscopy today and am very upset. They found an ulcer in my pylorus, did 4 biopsies due to "atrophy and erosions compatable with erosive gastritis". He left a message to talk to my surgeon to find out if he has to do another endoscopy in 1-2 months after I'm on Nexium.  Does anyone know if this sounds like I can still have the surgery down the road? I was hoping to have the surgery by the end of the year, since I started this last March. Now I'm not even sure I will be able to have it at all!!

I don't have anything as far as advice, but just wanted to reply and say to hang in there. Hopefully they can give you some good info and let you know sooner than later. I know they have done gastrectomies in the past due to stomach ulcers, before the actual VSG came around. But having it IN your pylorus might be a different story too, but I am NO idea! :) Good luck, hope you get some answers soon!

Thank you for replying to my post. IF I can get rid of the ulcers, they said they can still do the surgery, but they said I can't see the surgeon again until the ulcer is gone. So, I just hope its not one of those ulcers that doesn't go away. Thanks for your support

Well good luck! Sounds like there is hope! So they think the nexium should help resolve the ulcer?

That is too bad, I am sorry that has happened to delay you surgery. Did you have any symptoms?

They are hoping the Nexium does the trick but they did 4 biopsies to make sure its not cancer and check for H. Pylori. I have always had stomach problems as far as pain from time to time, but no reflux or anything. I had an Upper GI about 8 years ago and didn't have any ulcers or gastritis then.
