I might be overweight, but....
Over the weekend, Ms Shell and I completed a 15K run/walk in preparation for our 1/2 marathon. I seriously freaked out because Ive been dealing with a hip injury (which seems to be all better now!!) and had stopped running for 3 weeks. I totally had a "fat girl" moment when Ms Shell suggested I park my car .8 miles from the start line - uhhh - no thanks, i'm parking AT the start/finish line because I was sure this race was going to kill me (15k = 9.3 miles)
But, I started and finished the whole thing - and miraculously, somehow managed to run 9.5 miles, and live to tell about it. I probably walked another 2 miles or so after (hey, when you are addicted to coffee, you'll keep walking lol).
I probably would have cried when I was done because I was just so damn proud of myself, but I was already bordering dehydration (my water bottle fell and shattered 30 minutes in). When I finished, and realized that my dream of doing a 1/2 marathon is going to come true in 27 days, it was just amazing.
Having Ms Shell by my side literally and figuratively for the last couple months while we trained has probably beeen the only thing to keep me going - running has become more mental than physical at this point, and well, she just keeps it real with me and pushes me to keep going. There's no way I would have even showed up if it wasnt for her!
So screw the scale, screw the BMI, screw the "overweight" classification - I ran and jiggled all 9.5 miles.

Somehow, week after week, mile after mile, it all builds up and it just kind of ...happens. Im in complete disbelief that I will be finishing 13, but I will.
Consistency is the key :)
I have to manage 1-2 runs while I'm in ATL - I run super slow if you want to join me.
