Running!! I highly recommend the C25K app! Makes it easier than just trying to do it on your own. I have seen a huge difference since I started. My legs are toning up and looking a ton better.

Starting on the elliptical or a bicycle is much less impact on your knees, hips and ankles. Working your way from there to any of the previously mentioned exercises is up to you. Don't beat up your knees when you start because then you will not continue.

Fat is still fat.  You can't spot reduce, but you can tone a particular area.  If what you are really seeing is fat, that means weight loss is the answer, if what you are seeing is lose skin, than toning will help a bit but nothing short of plastics really takes care of the whole problem.  So I guess the answer depends on what you have there.

Since I have gone into maintenance but kept working out, my weight has redistributed, some. My big thighs are smaller, but I've actually gained a bit on the waist. Part of that is I have a lot more abs.  It's also part of the normal redistirubtion process.  I'm actually going to go back into weightloss mode to try and burn off another 5lbs or so of fat.
