I live in Oklahoma and I am just curious why you decided to go out of state.  I am scheduled with Dr. Walton in Edmond for October 22.

I am self-pay.  I also live in Southern Oklahoma so I could have gone in either direction.  Dr. Stewart is a vetted DS surgeon and the first part of that surgery is the sleeve.  So, he is very experienced.  I did my research and chose him.  I also liked he was located in Denton.  I had my surgery in Frisco at Forest Park Medical Center.

I live in southern Oklahoma also.  I lived in OKC for 17 years and I guess I still feel at home there! I am only getting a VSG.  I have a lot of anxiety about the surgery.  I think I am just afraid.  There are risks.  Did you consider other surgeons?

I was sleeved on June 27 and was scared, also. Very normal.  I did not have the DS. I actually threw up on the way to the hospital. My husband had to pull over...lol Nerves!!!  Afterwards,  I wondered what I had done myself.  At three month out, those thoughts are a distance memory and I'm blessed and thankful for the opportunity. I'm no longer on blood pressure meds.  There are risks, but there are risks being overweight, too.  I just had to put my faith in God and trust him for the outcome.
I did consider other surgeons and went with Dr. Stewart.  Honestly, you have trust the surgeon you've chosen.  There are good ones out there.  One of my OH friends had Dr. Walton and she seems very pleased with him.

Thank you for the kind words.  I hope to share some success stories soon.  Do you think two weeks off work is enough?  I don't have a physically demanding job.  I work in the dental field.

I've read that many people go back to work after a week or two...it is major surgery, tho!  I think it depends on the person.  I am a teacher so I was lucky and off for the summer. I needed the a little more time but maybe you won't.  People vary...I bet you do great!
