Why do I see a lot of posts about Gallbladder problems post op?

TnerNurse...was the ultrasound one of the required tests before surgery?  Was it routine or did you have any symptoms before?

I see several people mentioning that they had it.   I just finished all my tests, and ultrasound was not one on the list.  I would rather it be removed at same time too.  Guess I'd better ask him about that.

 Upper abdomen ultrasound was part of my routine preop testing. They are checking for fatty enlarged liver among other things. I really wasn't experiencing any gallbladder systoms. The polyps on the gallbladder was an incidental finding. Glad insurance approved the removal, so I didn't have to worry about another surgery later on down the road. My recovery was very easy.

I was prescribed Actigall / Ursodiol as well.  It was super nasty to take when I couldn't swallow pills immediately post-op, but after the sleeve surgery I was in NO hurry to ever have surgery again, so I took it religiously.  I was able to swallow the capsule after a couple of weeks I think.  Well worth it's weight in gold as a preventative measure!!
