Well, my surgery date is finally almost here. I'm getting a bit nervous But, I know I have prepared myself for this for a long time. My DH had his VSG nine months ago and is at goal and doing well. His support is great. I also know that the support I get here has helped me though the preparation phase of my journey. I am a bit stressed over all that I still need to do before Wednesday night. But I will just keep working though my "to do" list until it is done, or I run out of time.

You are going to do AWESOME - prayers and happy thoughts headed your way for Wednesday.  Thursday remember the newbie mantra - sip, walk, rest, repeat!

Those feelings are so normal. You will do great. You know, Sip, walk, rest. Don't be scared to push that morphine button when you feel any discomfort, I walked the halls alot and I didn't experience any gas pains. My overall hospital experience was great, I loved my nurse, I don't remember her name though. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers

Thanks Gabby. But Dr. Fedorka  said I would just be on lortab, a little worried that I don't get the little green happy button.

Not even in recovery?? I only had morphine for a few hours, and then got tylenol with codeine...the pain isn't as bad as you might expect. I'm a big freaking babby and it was ok. GAS is the worst which pain meds dont help with anyways.

Directly after surgery, you get morphine, then around the 3rd night lortab liquid and then I got lortab to take home, the sublingual nausea pills Zofran, I used them the first two Weeks postop and then that med to prevent gallstones and liquid ranitidine. I had my mom and dad with me when I was in the hospital bed waiting to have surgery and they were just reminiscing with me and making me laugh. It really helps ease your nerves when someone is there to talk and get your mind off of the surgery For me it was no where near as bad as I thought it would be. Like my buddy Ryan told me, Go in with a positive attitude and that's exactly what I did

Just try and keep distracted - it'll all be behind you soon enough.

Linda, I am so excited for you. You'll do great. I cannot wait to hear how you are after. Maybe Mike can post & let us all know. I'll pray for a safe & smooth recovery.
